1920
Harry “Hap” Bowlus starts Bowlus to haul stone for Sandusky County, Ohio.

1958
James C. Werling, son-in-law of Hap Bowlus, purchases Bowlus and expands operation by adding services to the local foundry.

1969
Bowlus purchases land in Rice Township, Ohio, and builds a 30,000-sq.-ft. warehouse and corporate office.
1982
James C. Werling II, son of James C. Werling, purchases Bowlus and continues expansion of services covering states east of the Mississippi.

1996
Peter J. Werling and Gary Horn purchase Bowlus, defining the business as a regional truckload carrier focused on delivering superior service to its clients with transportation needs in the Great Lakes region – an area reaching from Chicago to Syracuse, NY and to Louisville, Kentucky in the south.

2006
Mitchell Lance, Todd Petrowski and Jim Myers purchase the assets of Bowlus Trucking Company.
